Electrodialysis

Electrodialysis (ED) is an advanced, sustainable and innovative way to remove dissolved salts from aqueous stream with high recovery rate and low energy consumption.

Electrodialysis (ED) Plant or systems are commonly used for water softning and wastewater recovery application for industrial effluent and ground water sources.

ED systems improve the sustainability of water systems by reducing their water, energy and chemical consumption.

GreenPebble Technologies designs and manufactures its proprietary Electrodialysis Reversal (ED/EDR) plants and systems.

GPT's Electrodialysis (ED) systems is a modular system that has wide range of capacities and it features real-time remote monitoring of process and operating parameters.

ED/EDR systems are flexible in their deionization performance allowing for a range of different waters to be treated.

One of the biggest advantage of such system is the flexibility to remove or tune the TDS levels. It is possible to vary final TDS level by adjusting flow rate or applied voltage to the system.

There are other advantages as well over conventional systems as mentioned below:

  • Wide operational widow

  • If intermittent use is needed (ED can stop and start up again at any time with no effort)

  • High water recovery (≥95%)

  • If there are regulations against the use of salt (ion exchange). ED does not require salts or chemicals

  • Low energy consumption
